Advertising is a form of market communication or sales promotion, the purpose of which is to encourage or seduce the public (regardless of whether it reads, listens or watches).
 
The aim is to influence this disparate public in its actions. These can on the one hand be the online purchase of goods and products; on the other hand advertising also gives political or ideological impulses and requests for actions such as voting, electing, etc. In its Latin original the verb means „to turn towards something“.
